Old Fashioned Easy Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 6 Golden Delicious apples, peeled and chopped (you can use other varieties or slice them)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 tsp crushed cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
  • A pinch of kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Butter an 8×8 baking pan or spray it with nonstick cooking spray. set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine chopped apple, caster sugar, 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix together, then transfer to the prepared casserole dish.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, add topping ingredients (brown sugar, rolled oats, flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, salt, diced cold butter). Using a pastry cutter, cut butter into the oat mixture with a slight downward twist until the mixture resembles pea-sized crumbs. I can do it.
