Brigadeirao (Brazilian Chocolate Fudge Flan)

Brigadeirao is an easy family-friendly chocolate fudge flan made in a blender and baked in 40 minutes. It's decadent, fuzzy, and addictive!!!

It doesn't require any special cooking skills and is popular with people of all ages.

The secret is the quality of the cocoa powder used, and of course, be careful not to overcook. that's all!

Ingredients

  • 28 ounces of sweetened condensed milk (or two 14-ounce cans)
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup) sugar
  • ½ tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla essence
  • 4 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup good quality chocolate sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Butter or nonstick cooking spray on an 8-inch (20-cm) ring pan. Sprinkle sugar all over. set aside.
  2. Blend all ingredients (except crumble) in a blender until smooth. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Bake in a water bath for about 40 minutes. Remove from the oven, run a knife around the edges, and place on a wire rack to cool.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until chilled and firm. Swipe the knife again and flip it onto a plate. You may need to tap the bottom of the pot to encourage de-molding.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate on top and enjoy. If desired, dust the rims with fondant chocolate.
