Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread, about 1 lb.
  • 1 piece of room-temperature salted butter
  • 6 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Italian salad dressing
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups grated mozzarella cheese
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine butter, garlic, Italian salad dressing, and 1 cup of mozzarella.
  2. Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and spread an equal amount of garlic butter on each.
  3. Place half on the baking sheet, buttered side up. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes until the cheese melts. Increase heat to 450° and bake until the top is charred, up to 8 minutes more. Please watch over us during this time.
  5. Remove and cut into 1 cm thick rounds. Garnish with parsley and serve with pasta, soup, or homemade marinara sauce.
