These lemon cream cheese bars are perfect for sweet treats and how delicious do they look? Only 5 ingredients are required and minimal prep time.
Nothing brings recipes to life like a fresh lemon. A little different than your usual Southern-style lemon bar, look no further! This recipe is easy and tastes divine. I made these with Splenda® and low-fat cream cheese and they were great as well.
Ingredients

- 2 (8 oz) packages of refrigerated croissant dough (such as Pillsbury® Recipe Creations®), portioned
- 2 lemons, grated and squeezed
- 2 (8 oz.) packages of cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 3 tablespoons white sugar

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Line the bottom of a 9-inch x 13-inch casserole dish with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
- Push 1 can of crescent dough into the bottom of the prepared casserole dish and pull to the edge.
- Combine the zest of 1 1/2 lemons and the juice of 2 lemons in a bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar into lemon zest mixture until smooth and creamy. Spread on croissant dough layer.
- Roll out his second can of croissant dough, place it on top of the cream-his cheese mixture, and gently stretch the dough to the edges. Brush the croissant pie crust with melted butter. Place the remaining lemon zest and 3 tablespoons of sugar in a bowl. Sprinkle with butter.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Cool for about 20 minutes. Lift dessert from the casserole dish with aluminum foil. Transfer to a cutting board. Cut into squares and place on foil. Return the dessert to the casserole dish and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
